The Bandage- Special Exposure Wednesday
If you look carefully at the above picture, you will see a so-called “bandage” on Ricki’s hand, made of… toilet paper.
Ricki is utterly adamant that each and every injury that she sustains be dressed with a full bandage, or at least with several Band-Aids. Even if the sore is closed, invisible to the naked eye, she is insistent. The other day Ricki had the beginnings of some athlete’s foot fungus, and she requested that Band-Aids be applied. My explanation that the sores would heal more quickly WITHOUT Band-aids was utterly irrelevant in her eyes.
So sometime last week, when I refused to apply a dressing to a sore I could not even see, Ricki improvised one of her own. She only removed it when I threatened not to unlock the front door to go to school…..

Too funny. My kids are obsessed with bandaids too - even if as you say the sore is invisible to the naked eye!!
My son is like that with bandaids too. Of course it does not help that we have the ones with Nemo on it, :)
That's hilarious! She definitely knows what she wants!
Soo funny! I love that the t.p. bandage was her idea!
My daughter will rip any band aid off as soon as I get it on her, even if she is bleeding.
oh this is too funny. She is great!
We have the opposite problem at our house ... the kids loathe bandaids and bandages.
However, my daughter feels every puff of wind and can whimper/use puppy dog eyes and quivering lips at the drop of a hat.
I really get tickled sometimes by what they think is cool and/or necessary!
Very funny. Seems we spend their youth teaching them to put a bandaid on a boo boo and then spend the next phase teaching them that it's not necessary.
