The Moon, Venus, and slightly above them, Jupiter. In real life it was much more visable.

Wow! It was nighttime here when I saw it here in NY-- but here the moon was on top, and the planets were underneath/side. Since it was dark outside, my flash kept going off, so I only the moon was visible in my picture and not the planets. I finally realized I could video it, so now I have that moment captured for posterity!
I took my son out to see the moon. At 4 years old, he's mostly non-verbal but he's imitating sounds more and more, so I had him point and say "moon" as best he could. It was a beautiful sight here in northern NJ!
That picture takes me right back to the beach in Natonya on my last night in Israel in 2001...got to see a lunar eclipse! Thanks for the picture. I can't believe that I forgot to look for it last night.
BTW, I love your blog and read it every morning before buckling down to do work!

I didn't even think to take a picture, but when I went outside to get Michael off the van, I was blown away by the view!
It was unbelievable! Thank you for trying to capture it, if only to share it's memory with those who were able to see it.

It was too cloudy (and snowy) here to see anything though I checked several times...
