Eyeglasses (Again)

About a month (or more) ago, Ricki lost her eyeglasses within days of their purchase. I thus decided to NOT give her the spare pair, but let her experience long-term what it is like without them. It hardly phased her, amazingly.
Finally the day before yesterday I got the spare pair out, and she wears them constantly at home, but refuses (so far) to wear them to school. I think I need to call in Sherlock Holmes (or at least her teacher). But first I am waiting a few days to see if I can detect any hints as to why she doesn’t want to wear them at school, or to see if she will change her mind.

Does she think she looks prettier sans glasses?

Maybe she was asked in school if she s=was wearing contact lenses?

I personally don't withhold hearing aids or glasses any more I would withhold wheelchairs. Yeah, irresponsibility do happen. I had a broken hearing aid and couldn't hear without it. I have profound hearing loss. I guess mom wanted to teach me a lesson but all it did made me hated technology because I depended on it. I wasn't really being irresponsible though. I know these things help me hear. Its hard to explain but I just think it is unnessary. Just give her the second pair and teach her how to care for it and tell her your money will be spent on those things instead of toys (or games or whatever she enjoy) if she doesn't and move on. She'll take responsibilities

Anonymous, I don't know if you read this blog regularly, but I would like to point out that I took this drastic measure only after she lost about ten pairs of ($150 each)glasses within the span of about three months. Talking and exoplaining just WAS NOT working.
Now that she wants to wear at home, and not at school, I realize that this is due to some problem or peer pressure at school.
